Gangubai’s adopted son opposed the release of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, SC rejected

Just a day before the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Gangubai’s adopted son aprpoched supreme court and filed a petition expressing his opposition on the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi which  is based on the real story of Gangubai took place in the Red light area of Kamathipura. As he felt ashamed of listening his mother’s story he did so.

But, the Supreme court  has rejected his petition and said that the court could not accept his opposition before watching the film. A  two-member bench Justice Indira Benerjee and  J.K. Maheswari have heard the appeal filed against the order of the Bombay High court that opposed to stay the film release.

The senior advocate Aryama Sundaram said that the film has already received a censor certificate. So, the petition could not be considered and no person has a right to protest the film and he has to come forward with a strong reason. He claimed that they would not consider the film as an indecent story, as it is inspirational which tells about the rise of a woman from her stumbling blocks. The woman also did something good for the society.

Sundaram, on rejecting the petition, said that Gangubai’s adopted son is not aware of Gangubai’s  real story mentioned in the book ‘Mafia Queens’  written by S Hussain Zaidi and Jane Borges and now he is feeling discomfiture and approached the court with shamefacedness. The Supreme Court advised the Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to change the name of his film due to the several delayed cases before the courts requesting to stop the film emancipation.
